What causes cavities?

Sugar and acids feed the cavity-causing bacteria, which ultimately leads to a cavity

Cavities are caused by too much sugar and acid. Sugar feeds the bacteria in your mouth which make an acid byproduct.   Acid can slowly dissolve your teeth and make them weaker, eventually creating holes in your teeth which are called cavities.
