This patient came to our Winston-Salem practice with a number of cavities that needed treatment, but a level of dental anxiety that made traditional dental visits difficult. Because Dr. Nelson is one of the few dentists in the area licensed to administer IV sedation, we were able to offer a level of comfort and precision that goes well beyond nitrous oxide or oral sedation alone.
With the patient fully relaxed and comfortable under IV sedation, we were able to complete all of the necessary composite fillings in a single, extended visit rather than spreading treatment out over multiple appointments. Composite fillings allowed us to repair each cavity while matching the color and texture of the surrounding tooth, restoring both function and a natural, healthy appearance to her smile.
