All-on-4 & All-on-X Full Arch Dental Implants in Winston-Salem, NC

Replace an Entire Arch of Teeth In One Day

If you're missing most or all of your teeth in your upper or lower jaw, All-on-4 and All-on-X full arch dental implants let you walk out with a full, fixed set of teeth secured to just 4 to 6 implants — no removable dentures, no messy adhesives, no slipping. It's one of the most life-changing treatments in modern dentistry, and Dr. Blake Nelson has built a full arch program in Winston-Salem that pairs specialist-level surgery with in-house restorative craftsmanship you won't find at most general dental offices.

What Are All-on-4 and All-on-X Implants?

All-on-4 (and its variation, All-on-X, which may use 5 or 6 implants depending on your bone structure) is a full-arch tooth replacement technique that anchors an entire arch of fixed, natural-looking teeth to a small number of strategically placed implants. Instead of replacing teeth one at a time, this treatment replaces an entire arch — upper, lower, or both — in a single, coordinated treatment plan.

You'll leave your surgical appointment with a full set of temporary teeth already in place, and once your jawbone has fully healed around the implants (typically a few months), we replace them with your final, custom-milled zirconia teeth.

A Team Approach: Specialist Surgery, In-House Restorative Excellence

One of the biggest differences between our full arch program and many other providers is who is doing each part of your treatment.

The surgical placement of your implants is performed by a board-certified oral surgeon here in Winston-Salem — a specialist who has spent his entire career focused on the surgical placement of dental implants, bone grafting, and full-arch cases. This isn't a general dentist occasionally placing implants; it's a surgeon whose sole focus is getting your implants positioned with precision, using advanced 3D imaging and guided surgical planning.

Once healing is complete, Dr. Nelson and our in-house restorative team design and craft your final teeth, right here in our Winston-Salem office. Using our digital scanners, exocad design software, and our own 5-axis milling equipment, we mill your final full-arch restoration from monolithic Katana zirconia — one of the strongest, most stain-resistant, and most natural-looking materials available for full-arch dental work. Because the final restoration is designed and milled in-house rather than outsourced to an outside lab, we control the fit, the shade, the bite, and the timeline from start to finish.

The result: surgical precision from a specialist, combined with the artistry and quality control of a restorative dentist who has personally overseen every detail of your new smile.

Benefits of All-on-4 & All-on-X Full Arch Implants

Patients consistently describe full arch treatment as life-changing — the ability to eat the foods they love, speak without worrying about slipping teeth, and smile freely again.

Fixed, Not Removable

Unlike traditional dentures, your new teeth are permanently secured to your implants. There's no taking them out at night, no denture adhesive, and no worrying about them slipping while you eat or speak.

Teeth in a Day

You leave your surgical appointment with a full, fixed arch of temporary teeth already in place — you're never without teeth during the healing process.

Fewer Implants, Full Support

By using as few as 4 strategically angled implants, All-on-4 often avoids the need for extensive bone grafting that traditional implant-supported restorations require, which can mean less surgery and a faster path to treatment.

Preserves Your Jawbone

Like all dental implants, All-on-4 and All-on-X stimulate the jawbone the way natural tooth roots do, helping prevent the bone loss and facial collapse that come with long-term denture wear.

Built to Last

Your final restoration is milled from monolithic zirconia — a material chosen for its strength and resistance to staining and wear, so your new smile is built to hold up for years of normal eating and daily use.

Frequently Asked Questions

All-on-4 uses four implants to support a full arch of teeth. All-on-X is a broader term for the same concept using the number of implants (often 5 or 6) that best supports your particular bone structure and bite. Dr. Nelson and our oral surgeon will determine the right number of implants for your case based on your 3D imaging and treatment planning.

If you're missing most or all of your teeth in an arch, or if you have failing teeth that will need to be extracted, you may be a great candidate. The best way to know for certain is a consultation, including a CBCT 3D scan of your jaw, so we can evaluate your bone structure and design a treatment plan specific to you.

Most dental insurance plans treat full arch treatment as a major or elective procedure with limited coverage. We accept and file all dental insurance policies and will pursue maximum benefits on your behalf, and we offer financing options to help make treatment affordable.

A Comfortable, Sedated Experience

Full arch treatment involves more time in the chair than a typical dental visit, so comfort matters. Dr. Nelson is one of the only general dentists in the Winston-Salem and Piedmont Triad area trained and licensed in all levels of sedation dentistry, including IV sedation. Your full arch treatment includes sedation, so you can go into your procedure day relaxed and comfortable rather than anxious — most patients say the day passes quickly and they remember very little of the procedure itself.

How long does the process take?

Surgery day itself typically takes several hours, and you'll leave with your temporary teeth already in place. Full healing before your final zirconia restoration is placed generally takes a few months, during which you're wearing and using your temporary teeth.

Will I be in pain?

Your procedure is done under IV sedation, and most patients report little to no memory of the surgery itself. We'll provide detailed instructions for managing recovery comfortably in the days afterward.

Transparent, All-Inclusive Pricing

Full arch dental implants are a significant investment, and we believe you deserve to know exactly what you're paying for before you commit to treatment.

Our All-on-4/All-on-X full arch treatment is $30,000 per arch, and that price includes:

  • Surgical placement of your implants by a board-certified oral surgeon
  • IV sedation for your procedure
  • Your full set of temporary (immediate) teeth, worn while you heal
  • Your final, custom-milled zirconia restoration, designed and completed in our office

Many practices advertise a low starting price for full arch treatment and then add on sedation, temporary teeth, extractions, or the final restoration as separate fees — so the number you see isn't the number you pay. We quote you one price that covers the entire journey, from surgery day to your final teeth. And because our final restorations are premium monolithic zirconia — milled in-house rather than outsourced — you're getting a higher-grade material and a more experienced surgical team than many practices offer, often for less than what full-arch zirconia treatment costs elsewhere.

We accept and file dental insurance and offer financing options to help fit treatment into your budget. Visit our financial page to learn more, or give us a call to discuss your specific case.
